When I Was Younger, I Mostly Tried to Blend In

Awe. So sweet and small and vulnerable. Just like any baby. I love this little one. As in most of my work, this image evolved from the original abstract expressionist painting that now serves as the background. I created that work, then sketched this pup in graphite, then filled her in with layers of color, but just enough. Not too much. Because she is trying to blend in. Some of us take our time learning to stand out.
